Cultural Artefact: Maureen, MV

Details

The sixty-foot MV Maureen arrived in March 1959, purchased from the Gilbert and Ellice Colony. It joined the Margery, Myrtle and Mary in the Protectorate fleet. The Maureen was built in New Zealand in about 1945 of kauri double-diagonal planking, and travelled at about 7 knots. (NS Mar. 1959)
