Lord Michael Fitzroy, second son of the 10th Duke of Grafton, visited the Solomon Islands in 1954 on his sailing ship Saragana. He died on 15 July 1954 at Russell Islands while swimming back to his ship one night after a drunken party. It was thought that a crocodile ate him. The Saragana was later wrecked on Cape Esperance, Guadalcanal. (Allan 1989, pt. 1, 81; Alan Lindley, personal communication, 29 July 2011)
