Moses Puibangara Pitakaka, born on Choiseul on 24 January 1945, was a top student at the British Solomons Training College when he graduated in November 1963. In 1967 he attended a training course at Birmingham Institute of Education. He became Governor-General from 7 July 1994 to 7 July 1999. Late in his life he published The New Creation, a religious treatise. He died on Christmas Day of 2011. (NS 15 Jan. 1964, 7 Sept. 1967; SS 29 Dec. 2011)
